Episode 30. Low Back Pain & Desensitizing the Nervous System by Removing Triggers

If you're a sports rehab practitioner you've probably felt the polarizing tension between the biomedical and the biopyschosocial (BPS) models. In this episode we explore the intersection of these two worlds as it relates to low back pain. Specifically, how identifying and removing pain triggers in phase 1 of the rehab process may help us to prevent sensitization of the nervous system, i.e preventing peripheral sensitization from becoming central sensitization.
